The Enon Community Historical Society proudly sponsors the annual Enon Apple Butter Festival as a community service project.

Each year, the Historical Society prepares apple butter the old-fashioned way—cooked over in five, 50-gallon copper kettles. As each batch becomes ready, it is canned and sold fresh during the festival. The event draws an estimated 8,000–10,000 visitors over two days. Admission is free, and free parking is available for all guests.

Originally established as a fundraiser for the Enon Community Historical Society, the festival continues to support the Society while also benefiting many local non-profit organizations, churches, and school groups.

In years past, the festival was held on the Village Green next to the Enon Village Hall (Government Center). Following renovations to that space, a new home was needed. Thanks to the efforts of the Apple Butter Committee, the festival found its current location on South Xenia Street and the grounds of Enon Elementary School—an ideal setting for this beloved community tradition

Festival Experience: The festival will take place with rain, shine, or snow conditions.

Food, food, and more food!

Enjoy favorites like pork chops, hot dogs, chicken noodles, apple dumplings, walking tacos, funnel cakes, sausages, hamburgers, peanuts (in-shell or by the bag), shaved ice—and of course, APPLE BUTTER.

Please note: All food vendors are required to operate from booth spaces and prepare food on-site. Food trailers are not permitted on festival grounds.

Crafts and Gifts: Explore a variety of unique, handcrafted items available for purchase from our vendors! Please note that some vendors may be cash only. All craft booths are carefully reviewed and judged by our committee to ensure items meet handmade quality standards—manufactured goods are not permitted at the festival.

Interested in becoming a festival vendor? Visit the Vendor tab for more information and how to apply.

Heritage Experience: Stirring volunteers bring the apple butter-making tradition to life, preparing all apple butter over an open fire in traditional copper kettles.

Music and Entertainment: The Greenon High School band and choir will perform at the Opening Ceremony on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., kicking off the celebration.

Music from the past fills the air and enhances the festival atmosphere all weekend long.
